No gallery on the East Coast features such an extensive selection of modern and contemporary artwork as DTR Modern Galleries, our January Gallery of the Month and neighbor here in SOHO. Just a short walk, taxi or subway ride from our hotel delivers you at the door to a collection worthy of NYC art museums - only without the price of admission and overwhelming floorplans. In fact, touring Manhattan galleries is a wonderful way to accent your stay with masterpieces you won't see anywhere else, thoughtfully displayed in intimate spaces under the careful direction of knowledgeable curators who are always eager to answer questions and offer insight.

Upwards of 200 Masterworks

Between the founding gallery in SOHO and its sister locations in Boston, Palm Beach, and Washington DC, few galleries in the world feature the sort of extensive private collection found at DTR. Focused on artists of the 20th century, chances are you might see pieces from masters like Salvador Dali, Pablo Picasso, Peter Blake, Andy Warhol, Juan Miro, Henri Matisse, Takashi Murakami, and Jean-Michel Basquiat. Some of the most recognizable works that often adorn the gallery's walls include:

  • Andy Warhol, Campbell's Soup Can (Tomato), 1966
  • Takashi Murakami, Melting DOB (E), 2008
  • Salvador Dali, The Giraffe on Fire, 1966-7
  • Pablo Picasso, Portrait of Francoise Gilot, 1954
